Members of The Prayer Book Society are especially welcome to join us for our final Choral Evensong before our summer break. Music will include compositions from the time of one of our most famous parishioners, Samuel Pepys, who is buried under the altar at St Olave Hart Street.
As a result of a bequest from Mrs Pepys-Cockerell, the church came into possession of Samuel Pepys Prayer Book, which includes a metrical version of the Psalms dated 1680. The book was enriched with engravings and sacred pictures and rulings of red lines. The title page, illustrated by hand, is thought to be the work of Pepys’s friend Edward Cocker, the Writing Master. The embellished prayer book follows the example of Charles II. The book survived the near total destruction of the church during WW2 after being stored, along with other valuable documents, in the crypt of St Petroch’s Church, Exeter. It will be on display before and after Choral Evensong.

The Strategic Mailing Partnership (SMP) joined thousands of print, mail and communications professionals in Barcelona for FESPA 2026, one of the industry's largest international exhibitions and conferences.
Bringing together professionals from across the global print, signage, textile, corrugated, vinyl and visual communications sectors, FESPA provided a valuable platform for innovation, collaboration and networking. ADVENTURE WRITING PRIZE UNVEILS “TRANSPORTIVE” SHORTLIST IN LANDMARK TENTH YEAR

Fretwell expands digital print capabilities with investment in HEIDELBERG Versafire LP

Fretwell Print and Direct Mail, Yorkshire, has strengthened its digital production capabilities with the installation of a new HEIDELBERG Versafire LP with HEIDELBERG DFE. This investment further enhances the company’s ability to deliver high-quality, fast-turnaround print, across a wider range of applications.
The new press replaces Fretwell’s existing Versafire LV and forms part of the company’s ongoing strategy to combine advanced digital and litho production technologies, within a fully integrated workflow environment.

Herbert Walkers invests in a second Speedmaster XL 106 as part of £10m expansion programme

Herbert Walkers, the privately owned print and packaging specialist based in Shipley, has acquired a second new Speedmaster XL106 6+L, reinforcing a wider £10 million capital investment programme over the past five years.
The new press, due for delivery in June 2026, follows the installation of an identical machine in November 2024. Together, the two presses significantly increase production capacity, improve efficiency, and strengthen the company’s long-term manufacturing capability at its West Yorkshire site. The latest addition will bring the company’s total number of Speedmaster XL 106 presses to three, with the two new models sitting alongside an older machine.
